Regulation for bicycle reflectors and lights
It is important to know that the Highway Safety Code requires that bicycles be equipped with the following reflectors at all times:
A white reflector at the front and a red at the back
For the front wheel, here are the options: a yellow or white reflector on the spokes of the wheel; a yellow or white reflective strip on each side of the front fork; a rim with a reflective band around the circumference of the wheel; tires with reflective sidewalls;
For the rear wheel, here are the options: a red or white reflector on the spokes of the wheel; a red or white reflective strip on each shroud; a rim with a reflective band around the circumference of the wheel; tires with reflective sidewalls;
On the pedals, there must be a yellow or white reflector (if not, the cyclist must wear a reflective tape on each foot or shoes with reflective tape)
At velos cadence, all our new bikes are already equipped with reflectors according to the law.
For lights, it is mandatory to have a white lighthouse at the front and a red light at the back in the dark.
Brands and models of bicycle lights
We stock a wide range of front and rear lights. You have the choice between a light with batteries or a USB rechargeable light. Then choose the amount of light you want your light to emit: a light with a longer battery life that allows you to be seen, or a 1200 lumen lighthouse, like the E-Lume 1200 USB serfas, to see far ahead you. If you are looking for a light that can be used as front or rear light, the 2'Fer Local Blackburn will be perfect for you!
